Sumi Ink & Simple Strokes

The majority was done in 2021 when I started exploring using sumi-ink. The paper is called "Xuan" in Chinese with a natural beige colour, widely used as the major paper for writing and painting in China and some Eastern countries in the ancient times.

Most of my ink paintings were given to close friends and those who requested. Since I was at the beginning of experimenting with ink, many were not photographed or scanned to good standard. The name I used was HeartLotus for all these paintings.

The ones with complete white backgrounds were edited in Photoshop to add some colours. These thinner black strokes were also ink, but produced using a different kind of brush - calligraphy pens.
